Welcome to Pathfinders!

Fun leadership activities for 12- to 14-year-olds

Pathfinders is a place for fun activities for 12 to 14 year olds. She’ll learn and grow as she leads activities, plans events, explores her creativity and makes a difference in her community. Pathfinders is a place where she can be curious and creative, innovative and adventurous alongside old and new friends.

Pathfinders usually meet once per week for 90 minutes

Pathfinders can try new activities like:

  • Hiking on a local trail or rafting down the river
  • Cooking contests, pitch-a-thons for new inventions and other confidence-building challenges
  • Making DIY eco-friendly products and learning about new ways to protect the planet
  • Exploring the world on a local, national or international trip
  • Mentoring younger girls in Guiding (Read more about becoming a Junior Leader.)
  • Taking on a leadership role on a local committee or their provincial youth forum

FAQs about Pathfinders

Q: My child turns 12 later in the fall. Can she still join Pathfinders?

A: Yes! If your child is currently 11 and is turning 12 by December 31, she can join Pathfinders for the current Guiding year. Girls turning 12 on or after January 1 can register for Guides and will be eligible to join Pathfinders when registration opens for the next Guiding year. Check out our registration help page for information specific to the current Guiding year.
