Campership Application Guidelines

Please review the following guidelines and fill out the application form in its entirety.

  1. Applicants will be selected for Lone Guiding Campership opportunities based on the following criteria:
    • The Lone Guiding Campership, for events and camps offered through Girl Guides of Canada (GGC), is open to all registered Lone members (Sparks through Rangers). A Lone member may apply for the Lone Guiding Campership multiple times per Guiding year (September to August). 
    • Up to 80% of the GGC camp/event fee and cost to travel to the camp/event (if needed), will be awarded. The number of Camperships awarded will be based on availability of funds. 
    • To be eligible for the Lone Guiding Campership information including the following must accompany the Campership application:
      • the cost of the event, 
      • additional cost of travel (if applicable) 
      • funds received through other subsidies or fundraising 
      • written confirmation from the camp organizers that the youth has been accepted to the camp. 
  2. Application Deadlines*: Applications should be submitted using the form below, on or before the 1st of the month, and up to two (2) months prior to the month of the application deadline for the GGC Camp being applied for.
    • *For unique circumstances (on a case-by-case basis), applications received up to, but no later than four months after the date of the camp/event will be considered. 
  3. If selected, a confirmation email will be sent to the caregiver of the successful applicant and the host unit.  Direct Deposit information will be required from the caregiver for reimbursement of travel expenses (if applicable), and Unit Banking account information will be required from the event host (Responsible Guider) or host unit to complete the transfer. 

NOTE:

It is the responsibility of the applicant and/or her parent/legal guardian to ensure that full payment be made by the event deadline (i.e. if a balance remains after the campership amount is transferred) and that all conditions set out by the GGC camp/ event organizers are met. Any incomplete application that is received cannot be considered. It will be returned to the applicant who can resubmit with the missing information, if she so wishes.
