Try Now Join Later is now closed. To register for the 2022-23 Guiding year, please visit our registration page. Registration for new members begins June 13.

Is it really a no cost trial?

We won’t charge a registration fee for your daughter to join Girl Guides this spring! There may be additional costs for materials, activities, or excursions that the unit has planned*. Once you register her, we encourage you to reach out to your volunteer unit leader (Guider) for more information.
†Girls may not have access to all pre-planned unit events as part of Try Now, Join Later.

How do I find a unit for my daughter to join?

Our Unit Finder tool can help you find a unit near you that is participating in Try Now, Join Later. You can register your daughter for any unit with availability. Once she is registered, your daughter will be placed in the unit.

Please note that in some cases she may need to be placed in an alternate unit. If this is the case, a member of our Member & Unit Support team will reach out to you.

When can my daughter start going to meetings?

As soon as she’s registered in Try Now, Join Later she can join a unit meeting. You will receive information about the location, date and time that the unit meets (some units meet virtually) as soon as she has registered. Your volunteer unit leader (Guider) may also reach out before your first meeting to welcome your daughter and provide additional information.

When does Try Now, Join Later end?

Try Now, Join Later ends on the last unit meeting date for the year. Please note, this date will vary depending on the unit, but most units will have their last meeting in May or June.

What safety measures are in place?

Units may be meeting in person, outdoors or indoors, or virtually. This decision is made according to COVID-19 restrictions and the comfort level of our families and volunteers.

All girls 12+, adult members and non-member volunteers must be fully vaccinated to take part in in-person activities. This includes indoor and outdoor activities, regular unit meetings, camping and outdoor experiences, and in-person cookie selling. If your daughter is over the age of 12, she will be asked to self-declare her vaccination status upon registering. Those who do not self-declare they are fully vaccinated will be offered opportunities to participate in Guiding virtually.

For more information on how we’re keeping girls safe, please see our safety protocols and vaccination policy.

What age group (branch) will my daughter be joining?

Please refer to the list below to see which branch your daughter is eligible to join. Depending on her age, she may have the option to try the branch above to get an idea of what comes next!

Sparks (ages 5 and 6)
